Favourite reads for the past week; not exactly in the form of books, but in the form of online articles. Having said that, I still very much prefer the smell of paper-back books over the online versions. A tinge of guilt ‘cos I am still struggling to finish my Shopaholic novel series, since like late last year.
Here are the two links that I have shared on Twitter and Facebook, food for thought much.

The second article very much describes the feeling that my sis and I are having. Important question hovering in our minds now, should we take that leap of faith? She has taken hers actually, her last day of work is this coming Thursday. /claps/ Parents have been cracking up jokes about her resignation ever since she tendered – “You are gonna be a mi chong (rice worm, which means that she’s gonna feed on our income like a lazy bum) at home, so you can’t pick and choose your TV channels etc.” Anyways, my sis really needs a break. Her working hours (retail line) is crazy.
Spot her happy and relieved expression.
p.s. that’s my cousin’s dog

Now that she’s regained her freedom, she told us that she wanna be a day’s tourist in Singapore and go around snapping photographs. Good life! Only that, my dad has been pestering her to get a new job (since last week). Driving her crazy? Indeed.
So much for the wordy para above, it’s been a whirlwind seven days of Chinese New Year so far. First day was spent at my uncle’s and auntie’s place (paternal side). A pity that we really aren’t on good terms with two Uncles from my dad’s side, and we were relieved that we missed them this new year ‘cos we left before they arrived at my aunt’s place. Hence, the envy I have for friends whom are close to their cousins, taking photos together, having reunion dinner together etc. Oh wells, at least we are on close terms with the maternal side. Ironic that they are all residing in Ipoh (Malaysia). Guess distance doesn’t matter in this case ;D and so happy that we will heading back in two weeks’ for my granny’s birthday!
全家福 for 初一;

初二; Spent it at my Grand Aunt’s place
one of the few maternal relatives that reside in Singapore. Usual custom as well, we will head over in the afternoon and have dinner together with cousins ^^. Prior to that, went to Stan’s place to bai nian. Whee! That’s gotta be my favourite white shirt that I’ve seen him wearing all these time.

Darling niece and nephew

Randoms for now;
Bought this Super Junior last Friday, after meeting up with Mommy at JP (she came out to meet me just to get her jeans, poof). According to the salesperson at Gramophone, this is the last piece! Lucky me, heh ;D thanks to sis’ colleague for informing me too! Kudos!

That’s my dad sending me to school on Saturday, he didn’t know of the self-shot camera function on my iPhone and was really amused about it. That’s his candid expression, by the way. LOL!

And ‘cos I was keen to see the USS aircraft carrier that was docked at Changi Naval Base. Stan brought me on an expedition, after my lessons ended! Made a trip to Changi City Point for a late lunch, it was our first visit to the mall and first attempt at Texas Chicken. We got reminded of Popeye’s when we sank our teeth into the chicken, but we still very much prefer Popeye’s (especially the yummy Mashed Potato)! Cabbed down to SAF Changi Yacht Club, where we could view the beautiful USS John C. Stennis with her companions – two destroyers, one submarine, and one more ship (forgot the term, mehh). You can read the CNA news article here – http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/singaporelocalnews/view/1179341/1/.html. Till now, I am in awe of her stellar structure. Will post more photos of the carrier after I upload the images from my camera, probably this weekend!

We also managed to catch sight of the beautiful skyline from the Club; away from the hustling city, the Club provides a serene atmosphere for you to take a breather or two. They also have a restaurant if you want to have dinner and watch the beautiful sunset. I tried the food once (buffet), but that was like nearly three years ago, so I wouldn’t comment on the standard of their food for now. : )
Original decision was to grab dinner at MBS Foodcourt, after I told Stan that they serve yummy dim sum and decent food fare; but due to the large crowd that hogged the foodcourt (probably the same crowd that had visited River Hongbao 2012), we gave up the idea and went back to Jurong West area for some tzhi char lovin’. This stall at Blk 900+ serves really affordable and good dishes; sambal kangkong, spare ribs king, and sliced fish soup. Stan ordered an additional Oyster Omelette to share, though I always skip the oyster and take only the egg. Haha!
Sunday;
Loving the Instagram shots that I took over the weekend; of sunset, dusk, and more skyporn.
p.s. procastinated on this post over two days ‘cos I am that bad a proscastinator.
p.p.s. tons of photos to be uploaded – CNY, USS, and all the dinners.
p.p.p.s. I need to start my running regime before the rusts on my legs build up!
xoxo, Noi
