Thank you, year 2011!

Published December 31, 2011 by myntshop

Year 2011 has been very kind to me, albeit some obstacles did stand in my way. Really thankful for all the opportunities that I have been given, all the friends that I’ve kept to close, and my dearest family who has been generous with all the support that they have provided for me during the past year. Especially in terms of my career, I kinda took a big switch to what I’m doing now; I wouldn’t say that it’s all a bed of roses, but let’s just say that it’s best suitable for my studies now. That being said, I am so happy that I passed all my modules for this semester. Yay!

I’m also really glad that despite the different busy schedules we may have, we still managed to stay in touch via various means (thanks to technology?)! Cheers to friendships and better years ahead!

Also, thanks to dear customers of MYnt =) your tremendous support has been really generous, and I truly appreciate it!

Year 2012 is approaching, and I hope that the year ahead will be a greater one for everyone of you… More visuals will be up on the first day of a new year ;D for now, let’s take a few moments to rejoice on what’s taken place in year 2011, and reflect on the bads to become a better person in year 2012.

Cheerios! Happy New Year 2012!

We Got Married (WGM) Leeteuk and Kang So Ra

Published December 29, 2011 by myntshop

Lately, the weekdays went by on a mundane routine basis – waking up at 645am, getting ready for work by 745am, and hoping that #SMRTfail doesn’t literally fail on us. The 30-minute odd journey to work has been made better with the SuJu app playlist, SKIP BEAT drama series, and occasional YouTube-ing on SuJu MVs. Fan-girl much? :$ Heh.

Anyways, I am so hooked onto We Got Married (WGM) Leeteuk and Kang So Ra aka Dimple Couple! This pair is mad cute please ;D finished 10 episodes of the series within three days, and I just can’t wait for the next English subbed one to be out <3 Kimmy and I are like major fans of this series now /fan-girl sisters.

The year is coming to an end in two days’ time, and it’s the moment when we savour the bitterness/sweetness of what’s left of 2011 and hope that 2012 will be a much better one. The start of 2012 will be a hectic one with the various major work events /crossing my fingers. Abrupt ending to this post, here’s a photo entry that I saw from WordPress dashboard – http://klarayoon.wordpress.com/2011/12/26/my-year-in-street-photography/. Simply beautiful, right?

Here’re two photos from my Christmas dinner and Sis Qin’s birthday celebration with the dearest sisters!
Say Hi to Baby Clarisse, the darling of Sis Ting and Desmond! Isn’t she a cutie? /beams/
Thanks to Sis Meh for the polaroids too! <3———————————-
Will blog more about this lovely dinner, after all this hectic mess is over!

Cheers to many great years ahead!

Girlfriends that stick together through thick and thin;

Published December 27, 2011 by myntshop

You know in life, there’s this cliche phrase that goes – when someone who’s once a stranger, becomes your best friend the next moment. I’m thankful that I had managed to foster great friendships with people whom I’ve met in school, at work, and even through online platforms!

I got to know these two ladies – Charmaine and Stephanie, from my first job. And since then, we hit it off right away and till date =) I’m still counting my blessings for these two girlfriends of mine. We’ve seen each other through the ups and downs, and I am so glad we make time for one another despite being caught up with work and family commitments.

(This is a really backdated post, by the way!) Dinner was at Madam Saigon (Millenia Walk) ‘cos we wanted to meet somewhere centralised, and we were craving for ‘healthy food’. Ordered Chicken Spring Roll to share and Beef Noodles for our mains, and we all agreed that the food was awesome for the prices! ;)

- Chicken Spring Roll -
Resembles our local spring roll, but this one has more vegetables and the skin used to wrap the ingredients is different too!

- Beef Noodles -

Now, you may ask – “What’s so special about Nutrium10?”

Identified by International Academy of Cosmetic Dermatology (IACD), one of the world’s largest networks of dermatologist, Nutrium10 is the scalp care technology that makes CLEAR Shampoo a notch above the rest. Unlike other anti-dandruff shampoos, the new Nutrium10 CLEAR Shampoo treats the root cause! It was even put through clinical testing, and the response was very positive. Dermatologists have responded that CLEAR Nutrium10 works to prevent dandruff from coming back!

[Sponsored Review] Hada Labo Hydrating Cleansing Oil

Published December 6, 2011 by myntshop

Thanks to The Sample Store and Hada Labo for sponsoring me with its latest product – Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid (SHA) Hydrating Cleansing Oil! Given my mild sensitive and combi skin, I got to admit that I am not very adventurous when it comes to skin care products. Hence, Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid (SHA) Hydrating Cleansing Oil is my first try at cleansing oil!

Here’s my review…

A few points to note:

  • The ”make-up” test above is the standard eye make-up routine that I use for my work days – Maybelline Waterproof MAGNUM Volum’ Express Mascara, Maybelline Gel Liner, Kate Shimmery Eyeshadow.
  • I followed up with my Avene facial cleanser to make sure that my skin is cleansed thoroughly (‘cos I am really anal when it comes to removing my make-up)
  • One key reason why Hada Labo remains a hot favourite among many ladies – its products does not contain any mineral oil (other Cleansing Oils in the market contain mineral oil which is harmful to skin and clogs pores, a big no no!).

Despite not being an avid user of cleansing oils, I would say this product may make me a new convert! It’s really that awesome ;)

The Hada Labo Hydrating Cleansing Oil is priced at $20.90 and is available exclusively at Watsons nationwide. The Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Make-up Remover is priced at $17.90 and available at Watsons, Guardian, Fairprice and other major departmental stores.

Standard Chartered Marathon 2011

Published December 5, 2011 by myntshop

And so it’s my first half-marathon! Nearly died after the first 12km, almost gave up at the 16km mark, but I’m so glad I’d made it to the finishing line. A piece of sad news though, a 22-year old Chinese man who took part in the same category as me, passed away an hour after collapsing at the finish line. :(

Results of the timing will be out tomorrow, more updates on it then.

A Celebratory Dinner;

Published December 2, 2011 by myntshop

So on Wednesday, the phone call came. Mommy hesitated to pick up the call and asked my dad to pick it up. She was right, the call was indeed from the gynae clinic. It’s good news! =) Thank you all for the prayers! Superbly elated when dad conveyed this piece of awesome news to us over the phone (my sis and I were at work, then)! So that night, we all went out to have a good meal together. Not necessarily in the form of luxurious food, but a simple meal at Clementi 448 Market & Food Centre would suffice.

Mommy still has to watch her diet, so she ordered porridge =) sister and I followed suit. It’s our first time trying this famous Soon Lee Porridge, and we finally can understand the reason behind its popularity. For S$2.50 (Pork/ Chicken) and S$2.80 (Fish) each bowl, it’s really worth the amount spent. Generous serving on the you tiao, ingredients, and garnish, I’d say the 20 – 30 minutes is totally worth the wait. Go go go try it! :)

Dad ordered his usuals – Pork Cutlet from Tanglin Halt Westen Food, and 15 sticks of satay (Pork) from Chai Ho Satay to share. The queue wasn’t too long this time, but they had ran out of ketupat rice when I ordered. And as always, their satay never fail to impress ;D

The past few days (prior to receiving the results from the report) have been tough on the family, especially for our parents. Mommy, being the emotional one, had a hard time sleeping and we were so worried for her. So glad that it’s all clear now. This ordeal kind of tightened the bond within the family =’) something which I’m really thankful for. Bless everyone with good health please, it beats being wealthy. Trust me. ♥♥♥

Shopping Review ♥ SMooch Paperbag Waisted Skirt in Grey (Size M)

Joined the backorder for this piece, and received it on Monday! Imma happy kid please, ‘cos this skirt is gorgeous. I usually steer clear of paperbag bottom designs because I have wide hips. However, this fits my frame nicely and it ends just right above my knees. The colour is very sweet and feminine too =) material wise, the chiffon doesn’t seem filmsy but I think ironing is advisable to iron out the creases. This is gonna be a staple in my wardrobe now!  ♥ (Ref: UK Size 10/ 169cm)

—————————–
Read from Facebook of a schoolmate’s passing due to a horrific car crash yesterday… Her elder sister is of the same age as me. Sighs, the fragility of life.

xx, Noi.
